Kai Havertz netted in each half to give the Blues the win over Scott Parker’s relegation threatened side on Saturday at Stamford Bridge.
Havertz lead the attacking line as Tuchel made several changes from the side that drew with Real Madrid in the first-leg of the Champions League semi-finals.
The German international opened the scoring in the 10th minute after taking a short pass from Mason Mount in his stride in the box, jinks inside and unleashed an unstoppable shot inside the right post.
He would get his brace in the second half when his German compatriot Timo Werner found him with a pass in the penalty area and rifled a shot that found the back of the net.
The win opens up a six-point gap to their nearest rivals in the battle for fourth spot.
In another Premier clash, Brighton stunned Leeds 2-0 at the Amex Stadium. A penalty by Pascal Gross and a goal by Danny Welbeck gave Potter Graham’s side the victory over Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
