• Inter got a vital away win at Crotone to edge closer to winning the title
  • Goals from Christian Eriksen and Hakimi moved Antonio Conte’s side closer to lifting the Scudetto

Inter Milan edged closer to lifting the Italian title with 2-0 win over Crotone on Saturday.

Goals from Christian Eriksen and a stoppage time goal by Achraf Hakimi earned Milan the three vital points.

Inter will now await the result when Atalanta travel Sassuolo on Sunday – should the Atalanta lose, Inter will be crowned champions.

Inter Milan last won the league in 2010 when they did the treble – won the Champions League, Coppa Italia and the Scudetto under Jose Mourinho.

The first-half ended goalless with both sides struggling to convert the chances. In the second-half, the visitors surged forward with purpose and had their efforts repaid in the 69th minute.

Romelu Lukaku fed Eriksen who took a shot just at the edge of the box and put the ball in the bottom right corner.

Lukaku had a goal overruled by VAR for offside late in the game, before Hakimi sealed the win for Conte’s side.

Elsewhere, Verona drew with Spezia 1-1.

On Sunday, Lazio will host Genoa in an early kick-off fixture before Bologna take on Fiorentina. Napoli entertain Cagliari as defending champions Juventus travel to Udinese. Sampdoria will host AS Roma at Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
