Kamaru Usman successfully defends his welterweight title with a second-round knockout victory over Jorge Masvidal at UFC 261.

The Nigerian Nightmare put the lights out on Masvidal in the second round of the main event of a night that saw two fighters suffer gruesome injuries.

Chris Weidman snapped his leg in the opening seconds of his clash with Uriah Hall when the American attempted a leg-kick – the same way he beat Anderson Silva nearly eight years ago.

Weidman threw, with his right leg, Hall lifted his left leg to check it, and there Weidman’s leg snapped.

In the other fight, Jimmy Crute took a hard kick from Anthony Smith that proved too much for Crute and the doctor called for a stoppage.

In the Women Strawweight Championship match, Rose Namajunas knocked out Weili Zhang to reclaim the title. Namajunas dropped Zhang with a kick on the head to win via knockout.

Valentina Shevchenko reminded the women’s division why she is the fiercest fighter in the division with a dominant TKO win over Jessica Andrade.

Shevchenko grappled and beat Andrade to successfully defend her Flyweight title.
