Kenya Airways Cargo has resumed direct freighter flights between Nairobi and New Delhi. The airline said its first uplift from New Dehli included pharma, machinery, and general merchandise.

“The resumption of direct weekly cargo flights from Nairobi to New Delhi, is an indication of the integral part KQ plays in providing logistics solutions to our customers based on our robust world-class handling infrastructure and strong network footprint in Africa,” said Dick Murianki KQ Cargo Director adding that KQ Cargo will continue to offer seamless connections in India to Nairobi, and the rest of Africa, including destinations such as Accra, Ghana; Lagos, Nigeria; and Lilongwe, Malawi.
A fortnight ago, Kenya Airways unveiled its first repurposed Dreamliner 787 to cater to expanding cargo demand. In September, the airline opened a “world-class” cold-storage facility.
The Indian government extended the ban on international commercial flights till 28 February, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The ban on scheduled overseas flights was to end on 31 January after a ten-month gap.
“This restriction shall not apply to international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by DGCA,” the Directorate had said.
