‘Tweeting’ Chief Francis Kariuki laid to rest in Nakuru.

The late Chief Francis Kariuki was laid to rest in his home in Lanet-Umoja Bahati sub-county.

Chief Kariuki was known for his use of his twitter page, @chiefkariuki, in transmitting and disseminating information to the area residents.

Chief Kariuki passed away last Wednesday succumbing after a long battle with diabetes.

The late Chief was eulogized as a good leader who was always keen to interact with the residents on matters of development, good governance and improved security.

Speaking at the burial, Nakuru County Governor Lee Kinyanjui eulogized him as a good leader who was always in contact with the leadership of the county in issues such as water provision and security.

The Governor spoke of Chief Kariuki’s use of social media for good was inspiring and had earned him recognition both locally and internationally.

Hon. Kinyanjui promised that his government and the County Commissioner would work to support his wife and children.
