Khabib Nurmagomedov outclasses Justin Gaethje to retain his title and announces his retirement from UFC

Khabib reminded the world of how dominant he is in the octagon with a second round submission on Justin Gaethje.

Gaethje’s relentless attacks and strong punching power had some believing that he would be the ideal man to put an end to the unbeaten streak of the Russian.

The American started brightly delivering leg kicks that appeared to startle Khabib who in turn responded by beginning an onslaught on Gaethje that had him running in the first round.

His corner would be heard telling him at the break of how he needs to be careful with Khabib for ‘he is good’.

In the second round, Khabib would put Gaethje on the canvas before putting him in a leg-choke that had the American tap out.

An emotional Khabib would lie on the canvas after the match weeping for his late father, Abdulamap Nurmagomedov, who passed away due to Covid-19 related illnesses.

This was my last fight. No way I can come here without my father. I promise my mother that it will be my last fight. If I give my word, I have to follow this

He would then make the announcement that he was retiring from the sport after an incredible career in the sport.
