Joe Joyce is confident of a dominant win over Daniel Dubois in their British Heavyweight showdown.

Joe Joyce has revealed he will go for the throat and seek an early knockout victory when he takes on Daniel Dubois in their highly-anticipated British heavyweight showdown next month.

Dubbed ‘the biggest domestic heavyweight clash in years’ by Frank Warren, the duo had been scheduled to fight in April, July and October, but each time the fight has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Now the showdown has been penciled in for November 28 and the winner is expected to find themselves in prime position for a world-title shot in the future.

Speaking on the Gary Newbon Sports Show with Jewson, Joyce said:

‘There’s no other fight out there like right now. It’s a great fight in my career.

‘Once I beat Dubois it will set me up for some really nice fights. All that stands between me and where I want to be is Dubois so it’s easy. I need to finish him and move on.

‘He’s younger and fresher but he’s not been through the fire and had some real tests. He’s dangerous, a strong set of boxing skills and one hell of a right hand. If he hits me cleanly I’m going to feel it so I’ve got to be prepared and careful in the fight and take him into deep waters.’

I believe it won’t go 12 rounds and someone is going to end on the floor. Let’s try and knock him out because you don’t get paid for overtime.
