Elsa Angel Majimbo,19-year-old Kenyan comic who has stolen the hearts of many because of her comedy, has been announced as one of the nominees for the African Social Star of 2020 category at the upcoming E! People’s Choice Awards.
“So honoured to be the youngest ever nominated for E! Peoples Choice Awards, African Social Star category,” she Tweeted.
“I am so excited and shocked to announce that I have been nominated E! Peoples Choice Awards in the category of African Social Star. While I don’t know how I got here so quickly, what I do know is I wouldn’t have gotten here without all of your support,” she said on her Instagram account too.
The African Social Star of 2020 category aims to honour Africans who continue to break barriers and put the continent on the map.
Elsa will be competing against seven other contenders, including social media star and model Karl Kugelmann, South Africa’s rapper and actress Sho Madjozi, international Emmy Award-nominee and actress Thuso Mbedu, magician and TikTok star Wian van den Berg and Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi.
Nigerian YouTuber Dimma Umeh and African Movie Academy award-winning actress Lydia Forson from Ghana.
Voting began on October 1st and ends Friday, October 23 at Midnight.
