Safaricom’s PostPay plan with no expiry offers customers bundled voice, data, and SMS with no-expiry available on a 30-day basis with any unused resources rolling over to the next month.

Customers join the plan dialing *544# and select option 4 to Join PostPay or by using the MySafaricom app to do so.

The revamped plans from the expired platinum plans are offered at five price points ranging from a Ksh 1,000 plan with 5GB data, 400 minutes, and unlimited SMS, to a Ksh 10,000 plan that offers unlimited data, voice, and SMS.

The postpay tariff once it gets depleted, users will be charged an out of bundle rate of Ksh 2.30 for calls and Ksh 1.30 for data.

This is only applicable once the bundles run out,  users can also purchase other bundles with expiry or non-expiry on *544#.

“If you have already hit your credit limit, you will have to make a payment via MPESA to your account and then proceed to buy a different bundle of your choice. You can also use out of bundle at your preferred PostPay rate.”

Payment

However, users have been asking how the payment procedure is done! According to Safaricom, users receive a bill at the end of the 30 days period.

What does this mean?

For some users, they might have joined, let us say in the middle of the month. If you are one, you do not need to panic.

“If you sign up after the 1st of the month the amount and resources will be prorated and will not expire. On the 1st of the next month you will receive full (bundles and minutes),” says Safaricom in the Postpay FAQs.

Resources being prorated means they will be divided, distributed, or assessed proportionately on the days used.

As a user, you can be able to Calculate prorated usage in most cases. You’ll just need to take the month’s full amount based on the PostPay bundle plan chosen and then divide it by the number of days in the month to get your daily rate.
