Madhan Srinivasan, Tullow Kenya’s Asset Director has been appointed country managing director replacing Martin Mbogo.

In a statement, Tullow said Dhir will take over as the company’s chief executive officer and executive director of the group ‘with immediate effect.’

“After 10 years of service, Martin Mbogo, currently the Managing Director Tullow Kenya will leave the company at the end of his contract on December 31 2020,” the company said in a statement.

“We sincerely thank Martin for his contributions and achievements for Tullow and the Kenyan Oil & Gas sector in a challenging environment.”

“These changes will allow Tullow to work effectively with its Joint Venture Partners on its previously announced comprehensive review of the Project Oil Kenya development concept to ensure that it will be robust at low oil prices,” Tullow said.

Madhan has over 27 years of experience and has worked on Project Oil Kenya for the past six years.

Srinivasan said he will be looking forward to working with Tullow’s staff and joint venture partners and the Government of Kenya.

“This is a project and a resource of scale Mbogo’s exit follows recent extension of the firm’s licence in Kenya and ongoing wider changes to groups globally that can and will have a major social and economic impact in Kenya when it is developed, and I look forward to building on the work that Martin has done over the past decade,” Mr Srinivasan said.
