Arsenal fired two goals past Wolves to continue their chase for European competition.

Arsenal secured a vital 2-0 win away at Wolves as the North-London side continued its quest for European football next season.

It was Arsenal’s fourth win in a row after dismal performances away at Brighton and Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta’s side came to Molineux Stadium knowing that Wolves were previously unbeaten in eight league games and hadn’t conceded or dropped any points since lockdown.

Teenage sensation Bukayo Saka opened the scoring in the first half as he wrapped his left foot over the ball to connect with Kieran Tierney’s deflected cross shortly before half-time.

The teenager was called on to play forward as Nicolas Pepe was away as his wife had gone into labour. The teenager showed what Mikel Arteta had gotten in the teenager who signed a new long-term contract at the Emirates earlier this week.

It was frustrating afternoon for Wolves’ striker Raul Jimenez who was kept at bay by Arsenal’s defence

It was a deserved three points for the Gunners who showed character and energy with wing-backs Cedric Soares and Kieran Tierney offering both attacking and defensive support to a three-man defence of David Luiz, Kieran Tierney and Shokdran Mustafi.

The Gunners would seal the win in the 86th minute when substitutes Alexandre Lacazette and Joe Willock combined for Arsenal’s second.

The two were introduced deep in the second half and took only four minutes to seal the win. Willock ran with the ball into the penalty area and squeezed a pass to the Frenchman who cleverly spinned past Wolves skipper Conor Coady before clinically placing the ball in the bottom corner.

Victory sent Arsenal up to seventh with Sheffield United playing today (Sunday).
