UFC: Masvidal claims that Dana offered him last-gasp offer for UFC 251 bout

UFC fighter Jorge Masvidal has claimed that Dana White offered him a late night offer for UFC 251 bout.

The welterweight fighter has been embroiled in a war of words with UFC President Dana White in what he, and Jon Jones, have labelled as a betrayal of their work ethic by the company which refuses to pay them what they deserve.

In his latest claims, Masvidal revealed that White handed him the last-gasp ultimatum in an attempt to secure a UFC 251 clash with Kamaru Usman at next month’s event in Abu Dhabi.

The fighter informed that he opted out of the offer amid his war over wages with Dana White.

Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman will now take on Gilbert Burns during the event

Masvidal was scheduled to fight the welterweight champion Usman early this year but this was thwarted by the curtailing of sporting events due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It was during this break that the contractual issues began with the fighter demanding a better pay day from the franchise.

White retorted and insisted that Masvidal should honor the terms of his eight-fight contract deal.

UFC 251 will be headlined in Abu Dhabi and will see three world titles defended on July 11.
