Championship set June 20 as date of resumption

Championship sides have agreed to return to action on Saturday June 20.
The league was suspended back in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
A report by the Daily Express shows that the clubs are ready to get back to action as soon as June 20.
This is said to be pushed by the fact that up to 40 percent of players in EFL Clubs set to have their contracts expiring by July 31.
The reports further indicates that the clubs have agreed to rush through the remaining nine games of the programme in five Saturdays and four midweek slots to finish on July 18 – leaving just enough time to complete the play-offs.
Leeds currently sit at the summit of the Championship table with 71 points, one point above West Brom.
Fulham sit third on the table with 64 points, while Brentford, Nottingham Forest and Preston occupy the other three play-off places, with Bristol City just a point outside in seventh place.
The report further indicates that the players have signed a 47-page dossier of protocols surrounding social distancing at the training ground and the first round of blanket testing will be completed in time for a return to action on Monday.
Elsewhere, League Two clubs unanimously voted to end their season with no relegation, to use average points per game to decide promotion and to stage play-offs.
