• The Kenyan Athlete has been banned for Four Years
  • Yator was suspended in 2019 by the World Athletics’ Athletes Integrity Unit

Vincent Kipsegechi Yator has been banned for four years for violating anti-doping rules.

The 30-year old had been suspended on October 2019 after testing positive to a banned substance.

The sample was taken in July 2019 during the Gold Coast Marathon in Australia. The urine was found to contain the presence of Prednisone, Prednisolone and metabolites of testosterone. The substances are prohibited.

During the Gold Coast Marathon, Yator finished fourth clocking 2:09:59 which was a personal best for the athlete.

Survived an Accident

The athlete had a ‘from tragedy to triumph’ experience back in 2018 when he pulled himself from a tragic road accident to finishing third in the Honolulu Marathon.

During the accident, Yator suffered three broken ribs and internal bleeding that saw him hospitalized for close to a week.

The resilient runner would then pick himself up and finish third in the Honolulu Marathon in December the same year.
