UEFA wants the 2019/20 Champions League season completed in August.

The body is planning to have the season completed by August 3 and are considering a mini four-team tournament to crown the eventual winner.

The dates were arrived at after a conference call with the 55 national associations to discuss contingency plans to save the season.

Both the Champions League and the Europa League are currently postponed.

The Champions League was about to head to the last-8 ties that have two legs, while Europa League was about to begin the two last-16 ties.

UEFA want to try and complete the current Europa League season

This could see a mini-four team tournament take place with the semis and finals played in Instanbul and Gdansk for the Champions League and Europa League respectively.

UEFA also plans to scrap the European Super Cup – where the Champions League and Euopa League winners meet.

UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin wants the matches to go ahead with fans in attendance and is against the idea of playing the games behind closed doors.

It was also announced that all international fixtures in June have been postponed.

The Women’s Euros in 2021, that were to be played in England, have also been pushed to 2022.
