Tanzania has registered its first coronavirus-related death, the health ministry announced on Tuesday with cases now at 19.

According to the Health Minister Ummy Mwalimu, the victim was a 49-year-old Tanzanian male, who had pre-existing conditions. He had been admitted to Mloganzila Hospital in Dar Es Salaam for treatment. 

The country has reported one recovered case.

UGANDA

Uganda currently has 13 confirmed coronavirus cases, zero deaths, and no recoveries. 31 Ugandans and 2 Chinese.

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has ordered a 14-day nationwide lockdown in a bid to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.

“Except for cargo planes, lorries, pickups and trains, starting on March 31 at 1900 hours, there will be a curfew throughout the whole of Uganda” Museveni said.

RWANDA 

On Sunday, Rwanda’s health ministry confirmed the existence of at least 10 new coronavirus cases in the nation, increasing the total number of cases to 70.

KENYA

Kenya’s coronavirus cases have risen by 8, with the total now standing at 50 as of Monday.
