Chairman board of directors of East African Breweries Limited (EABL) has announced the resignation of the company secretary and the appointment of a new one.
In a public notice, the company disclosed that its secretary, Joyce Munene had resigned effective 27 March. “We would like to thank Joyce for her commitment and invaluable contributions and wish her the very best in her future endeavours,” read the Board statement.
The brewer also revealed the appointment of Ms. Kathryne Maundu as its new company secretary with effect from March 28, 2020.
Kathryne is a leading expert in corporate governance within the East African Region.
She previously worked at Deloitte and has been instrumental in advising leading corporates in the public and private sector over the last 15 years.
She is also recognised as a leader and mentor in society and has been named as a Top 40 under 40 women in Kenya.
Kathryne holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Nairobi and a Post Graduate Diploma in Law, from the Kenya School of Law.
She is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a member of the Law Society of Kenya, a registered Certified Public Secretary and an Accredited Governance Auditor with the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya (ICPSK).
She also holds a Corporate Governance Certification from the Women on Boards Network.
“The Board is confident with the wealth f experience that Kathryne brings and welcomes her to the company,” said the EABL Board.
