Kenya Airways on Thursday announced that Allan Kilavuka will replace Sebastian Mikosz as Group Managing Director and Chief Executive effective April 1, 2020.

Kilavuka was the chief executive of Kenya Airways subsidiary Jambojet when he served as an acting CEO for the KQ. Kilavuka led the five-year-old low-cost carrier Jambojet since January 2019.

“It is particularly gratifying to me the Board agreed to support the appointment of Allan to the full role of substantive CEO,” said KQ Chairman Micheal Joseph.

“During his short time as acting CEO of KQ, Allan has thrown all his energy into this role, whilst still maintaining his position of CEO of Jambojet,” he added.

Kilavuka will join the Boards of all subsidiary companies and will remain on the Board of Jambojet initially as chief executive until March 31, 2020, and thereafter as a representative of Kenya Airways.

Prior to that, he was General Electric’s global operations leader for sub-Saharan Africa.
