Britam Insurance Company has been selected by Little Cab, a ride-hailing app as their preferred insurance partner. Britam will be footing medical expenses for riders in the event of an accident while riding with Little.
In a statement, Little said, “This is in line with our commitment to offer safe, affordable and reliable mobility solutions. This covers all Little retail riders, that opt-in for this service for as little as Ksh 4.5 per ride. We are delighted to partner with Britam on this to make your Little ride ‘A Little Safer’ .”
“In the unfortunate event that you are involved in an accident while on a Little ride, your medical expenses are covered, inclusive of ambulances,” read the statement.

According to Britam, cancellation of the trip before onboarding the taxi will deem that the client did not apply and the cover will be termed null and void.
“The cover commences when the rider begins the ride after requesting the digital taxi and ends upon arriving at their destination.”
The cover commenced 18th November 2019.
