Designer Group, an Irish engineering solutions company, has opened an office in Kenya and Uganda to tap into the thriving infrastructure sector in East Africa.
The group has partnered with a number of East African companies to engineer, procure and construct projects ranging from utility, infrastructure, industrial and sustainable energy.
Turnover is expected to reach €13m (Ksh1.46 billion) in 2019 and €25m (Ksh2.8 billion) in 2020 of which 80 percent is already secured.
Irish Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Heather Humphreys said: “I am delighted to be in Kenya for this important trade mission to strengthen trade ties between Kenya and Ireland. Kenya is one of the fastest-growing economies in Africa and there are great partnership opportunities for Kenyan and Irish companies, which is very much reflected in the significant deals announced today.
