Fuel prices have been increased across major cities in Kenya according to the latest review by the Energy Regulatory Commission.
The energy regulator announced on Sunday, Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene in Nairobi will increase by KSh5.25, KSh5.52 and KSh2.76 per litre respectively.
The new prices will be in effect from April 15 to May 14, 2019.
The ERC said the prices increase have been as a consequence of the average landed cost of imported Super Petrol increasing by 9.14% from US$568.55 per tonne in February 2019 to US$620.54 per tonne in March 2019.

Kerosene also increased by 1.88% from US$650.29 per tonne to 662.55 per tonne.
The pump prices are inclusive of 8% VAT in line with the provisions of the Finance Act, 2018.
In March, annual inflation accelerated to 4.35% compared to 4.14% a month earlier owing to an increase in food and transport costs.
“The Transport Index increased by 0.42%, mainly as a result of increases in pump prices of petrol and diesel,” according to the Kenya Bureau of Statistics.
