Applications are now being accepted for the 2019 BAKE Awards 2019 by the Bloggers Association of Kenya (BAKE), an annual competition that has helped recognise and celebrates outstanding bloggers in different categories.
“This year we have introduced one new category: Podcast, bringing the number of categories to 24. The rule that makes three-time (or more) winners in the competition ineligible to compete, still stand,” James Wamathai, Director, Partnerships at BAKE said in the announcement.

4. Business Blog
5. Food Blog
6. Environmental Blog
7. Fashion and Style Blog
8. Agricultural Blog
9. New Blog
10. Corporate Blog
11. Topical Blog
13. Entertainment Blog
14. Education Blog
15. Travel Blog
16. Public Health Blog
17. County Blog
18. Religious or Spirituality Blog
19. Lifestyle Blog
20. Beauty and Hair Blog
21. Video Blog (Vlog)
22. Podcasts
23. Social Issues and Active Citizenship Blog
24. Kenyan Blog of the Year
Submissions will be accepted in 23 categories and a blog can only be submitted in one category that it fits best.
The timeline this year is as follows:
Submissions phase – February 12th 2019 to March 29th 2019
Judging phase – April 1st 2019 to April 30th 2019
Online voting – May 1st 2019 to May 30th 2019
Winners’ Gala event – June 1st 2019
