Tusker Mattresses Ltd. automated Lipia Pole Pole Layby solution for customers wishing to purchase items on easy installments has transacted Ksh 0.5 billion eight months after launch.

The innovative payment option was introduced at Tuskys physical stores in September 2017 and is powered by Flexpay, a local FinTech start-up focusing on retail solutions.

Dan Githua, Tuskys  Group CEO, says the Lipia Pole Pole solution has been embedded in the new e-commerce platform.

“We are very excited about this product which we have been testing for months,” said Githua.

“Our 66 locations in East Africa, also means we have a delivery and pick up capability to leverage on. This means when a customer checks out, real-time, the supplier will get their payment in their account and will not have to wait to be paid by Tuskys,” he adds.

According to Capital Fm, Tusky’s new online store was developed at a cost of more than Ksh 30 million, comes on-stream as part of the firm’s commitment to enhancing its business performance and customer experience through an E-commerce platform.

It is powered by an Amazon Online retail engine, the new Tuskys Online store is hosted on a cloud-based platform, by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and will feature a total of 11 easy to navigate departments ranging from Furniture, electronics, crockery, Mavazi, Mobile Accessories, and home appliances.
