KCB Group said Monday that Mr Adil Arshed Khawaja has retired from the bank as a Non-Executive Director after 8 years of service since 2012.
“Mr. Adil Khawaja will retire from the Board, effective 14 June 202, having served the maximum tenure as a Non-Executive Director in accordance with the provisions of the Board Charter of KCB Group Plc,” said Joseph Kania, the Group Company Secretary on behalf of the board in a statement to the Nairobi Securities Exchange Chief Executive.
“The Board and the entire Group convey gratitude to Mr. Khawaja for his invaluable service to the Group.”
He also serves as Chairman of the KCB Bank Kenya limited Board and is also the Chairman of KCB Insurance Agency Limited.
Khawaja is the managing partner at Dentons Hamilton Harrison & Mathews, and a leading name in the real estate, environmental and planning industry, and commercial litigation and dispute resolution circles.
Adil has extensive experience in diverse areas of law such as corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and private equity, banking and finance and complex company restructurings.
He regularly advises foreign companies that conduct business in Kenya, as well as Kenyan corporations that conduct business abroad.
