The average rental yield for serviced apartments within the Nairobi Metropolitan Area increased by 0.7 percentage points to 6.2 per cent in 2022 from 5.5 per cent in 2021. Westlands and Kilimani were the best-performing nodes in the period, with rental yields of 9.3 and 7.2 per cent, respectively, compared to the market average of 6.2 per cent. KCB Group Plc has named Mr George Odhiambo, the managing director of BPR Bank Plc Rwanda, head of the National Bank of Kenya. Mr Odhiambo joined KCB Group in Rwanda in 2009 as head of Business Analytics and Transformation Project before becoming its head of Retail Banking in 2013. He was promoted to managing director in 2017 and is credited with turning around the bank’s operations. Mr. Khawaja was appointed Safaricom director in December 2022, replacing former Board Chairman and director John Ngumi, who stepped down barely five months after his appointment. Music streaming company Spotify on Monday announced to slash 6 per cent of its workforce globally. In a memo, Daniel Ek, Spotify CEO, announced that he was too ambitious in investing ahead of their revenue growth. “And for this reason, today, we are reducing our employee base by about 6 per cent across the company.
