Africa’s future economic and social progress is under threat from alarmingly high levels of child hunger, a new study released at the eighth International Policy Conference on the African Child says. The report by African Child Policy Forum (ACPF) says while global child hunger is declining, in some parts of Africa, it is getting worse, with around 60 million African children stunted and millions more suffering from wasting. The Kenya Association of Manufacturers has introduced the Customer Bora-Taka Banks Program in partnership with Dandora Hip Hop City aimed at facilitating sustainable collection of waste for recycling by establishing trial “taka bank” kiosks to serve as collection stations. East African Portland Cement Company (EAPCC)  has hired Stephen Kyalo Nthei as managing director in acting capacity, a role that will be a key part of the firm’s realization of its turnaround efforts in the medium term plan.
