National Oil Corporation of Kenya has appointed a new chief executive, James Nyamongo in an acting capacity. He takes over from Ms. MaryJane Mwangi who made a decision not to renew her contract during a Board meeting held on 09th October 2019. Maryjane joined National Oil in 2008 as the Sale and Marketing Manager and rising to the ranks as General Manager, Downstream Operations at the National Oil Corporation of Kenya under the former CEO Sumayya Hassan-Athmani. Uganda’s central bank on Monday cut its benchmark interest rate by one basis point to 9.00 percent, the first time since October 2018, in a bid to bolster the country’s sagging growth.
