The African Development Bank (AfDB) has re-elected Akinwumi Adesina for a second five-year term as president. Adesina, who was running unopposed, gained 100 per cent of the votes cast, the bank said in a statement. The election took place on the final day of the 2020 Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank Group, which was held virtually for the first time in the Bank’s history.
