Airtel Kenya has launched its Embedded Subscriber Identity Module (eSIM) support for its customers. The eSim is an embedded SIM within the phone that cannot be physically removed. Customers are required to visit an Airtel Shop to be given a card with a QR code for scanning with their phone to activate the e-SIM service. Meta Platforms has announced a subscription service called Meta Verified, letting users verify their accounts using a government ID and get a blue badge. The subscription bundle for Instagram and Facebook also includes extra protection against impersonation and will be priced at $11.99 per month on the web or $14.99 per month on Apple’s iOS system. Meta Verified will be rolled out in Australia and New Zealand, with gradual launches in other countries.
