Competition Authority of Kenya (CAK) has authorized KCB Group to acquire certain liabilities of the Imperial Bank worth Ksh 31.7 billion. Through Gazette Notice No. 8038, CAK says the proposed transaction entails the transfer of various listed assets, including outstanding deposit balance amounting to Ksh 331.7 billion, loans and security portfolios together with all rights, titles, and interests. Two accused persons, Mohammed Ahmed Abdi and Hussein Hassan Mustafa charged in the 2013 Westgate attack case have been found guilty of conspiracy to commit a terrorist act. Two Cuban doctors, who were abducted by Al-Shabaab from Kenya’s Mandera County in 2018 have been released.  The two, Assel Herrera and Landy Rodríguez, a physician and an orthopedic surgeon had been deployed to Kenya in 2018 before the incident.
