Betting firm Betika has extended support to the National Super League teams by donating kits for the season commencing on November 6. Betika says this is an addition to its 3-year Ksh 90 Million sponsorship for the league where teams will receive financial support to facilitate and uplift the game.  “We are steadfast in giving back to society. East African Breweries’ medium-term note has been oversubscribed by 245 per cent with the brewer receiving KSh37.9 billion. The brewer had targeted to raise KSh11 billion in debt in an offer that was open for 15 days beginning October 6, 2021.  “The fact that this achievement was delivered in the face of depressed economic conditions further signifies the belief investors have in our strategy as this business turns 100 next year,” said EABL Group CEO Jane Karuku. Kenya says it will deploy the use of the new novel oral polio vaccine type two (nOPV2) aimed at addressing mutants of the virus. Kenya is among the countries that have been certified to use the novel oral vaccine type two as part of its prioritised polio eradication initiatives. Online video streaming platform Netflix says it will premier a series of an “Anthology of African Folktales, Reimagined” in 2022.  This will be through a Netflix and UNESCO partnership innovative short film competition across Sub-Saharan Africa. Winners of the competition will be trained and mentored by industry professionals and provided with a US$75,000 production budget to create short films that will premiere on Netflix in 2022 as an “Anthology of African folktales”. The Kenyan shilling depreciated to a record against the dollar attributed to increased import activities by local traders. The shilling touched KSh 111.02 per US dollar on October 21, compared to KSh 110.81 per US dollar on October 14 according to data from the Central Bank of Kenya.
