President Uhuru Kenya has appointed Mr. Ukur Yatani as acting National Treasury and Planning Secretary, replacing Mr Henry Rotich who is currently facing corruption charges.
Also, the Principal Secretary in the State Department for planning, Dr. Julius Muia has been moved to replace Dr. Kamau Thugge as the principal secretary. Thugge is also facing corruption charges.
State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena-Mararo said the appointments were made “in order to ensure smooth operations and continuity at the National Treasury and in line Ministries following the Court Order affecting Mr. Rotich and Dr. Kamau Thugge..”
According to Yatani, he will help President Uhuru Kenyatta realise his dream to transform the nation.
“I am alive to the fact that the task ahead is enormous, expectations high but I will strive to ensure fiscal soundness of our Economy by giving priority to areas that will support the Governments Big 4 Agenda and the realisation of Vision 2030.
