Romelu Lukaku marked his debut with Chelsea with a goal as the Blues beat Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates.
The Belgian got off the mark in the 15th minute from a pass from Reece James who was enjoying plenty of freedom in the left wing.
James would get on the scoresheet minutes later to get the Blues their second goal of the match.
Arsenal attempted to rally back into the match with the crowds roaring them on and had a penalty waved away by referee Paul Tierney after James had tripped Bukayo Saka in the area.
Chelsea dictated the game and looked comfortable with the ball at the expense of Mikel Arteta’s side who were off the pace for the better part of the game.
Earlier on, Southampton held Manchester United to a 1-1 draw at the St Mary’s Stadium, as Tottenham picked three points away at Wolves with a 1-0 win at the Molineaux Stadium.
