- Bayern Munich knocked out of Champions League despite 1-0 win over PSG
- Choupo-Moting’s first half goal not enough to see defending champions through to semi-finals
- French side set to take on winner between Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City
Champions League holders Bayern Munich are out of the competition despite winning 1-0 away at Parc des Princes.
The German side came into the fixture at the back of a disappointing 3-2 loss in the first leg but a series of missed opportunities saw the champions knocked out by last year’s finalists.
Kylian Mbappe and Neymar led the French side in a fairly one-side clash with the duo relying on counter-attack chances created.
An injury-plagued German side created a host of chances in the first half with Leroy Sane and Joshua Kimmich’s seeing their chances flying to the side.
Choupo-Moting eventually gave the visitors hope late in the first half when he bundled the ball into the net.
The visitors kept pushing in the second-half and had Manuel Neuer to thank for a series of last-ditch tackles as the French side swept time and again in counter-attack.
The result sees the French side march into the semi-finals of the coveted competition where they will take on the winners between Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City. The English side head to Germany with a slender 2-1 lead.
