Analysis: Why the “Day School” Metric Matters
The fact that 72,000 students from day secondary schools qualified for university is a significant trend. It suggests that the quality of instruction in localized public schools is closing the gap with traditional national boarding schools. This “leveling of the playing field” allows students from lower-income backgrounds to compete for high-demand degree programs.
Addressing Release Concerns
Despite public anxiety and rumors regarding a “delay” in the processing of results, CS Ogamba reassured stakeholders that the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) followed a strict timeline.
“The process was proceeding as planned to ensure the highest levels of integrity and accuracy in the final grading,” the CS noted during the handover at State House.
