Each winner’s story highlights how everyday M‑PESA transactions can transform lives:

Faith Muchira, Embu
“Even now, I am still in disbelief that I am a new millionaire. I frequently buy data bundles using M‑PESA so my child can watch cartoons. This is truly a miracle from God.”
She plans to expand her nail parlour, rice shop, and rabbit farm, while supporting the Kathigiri New Arimi Self‑Help Group with tents and chairs.
Charlotte Wachera, Naivasha
“When I received the first call, I dismissed it as a scam. It was only after receiving the confirmation message that I started to believe it.” She will open a clinic in her hometown and support Baharini ECD in Kihoto with uniforms, classroom renovations, and a vegetable garden.
Joseph Ndung’u, Mombasa
A Tuk‑Tuk driver from Kisauni, Ndung’u, became the 14th millionaire.
“I had just completed a trip when I received the call. I was sceptical at first and borrowed a friend’s phone to verify that it was indeed Safaricom.” His win came during family grief, bringing hope. He plans to expand his transport business, open a spare parts shop, and finance his mother’s surgery. For his community project, he will empower the Bidallah Self Help Group with a freezer, larger water tanks, and fruit parlour support.
Geoffrey Kipkoech Rop, Nairobi
“I honestly lack words. This is unbelievable. I have faced many challenges in life, but I am grateful that God has finally remembered my family.” He will build rental houses in Nandi and expand his dairy farm, while donating chairs to his church.
Susy Namalwa, Kakamega
“I don’t know how best to thank God and Safaricom. I have struggled for 30 years as a widow raising my children alone.” She will expand her catering business and support her church in Kiandike.
