The 2024 China (Changsha) Engineering Machinery Remanufacturing (Second-Hand) Equipment Economic and Trade Matchmaking Conference (Kenya Station) concluded successfully, fostering new partnerships and trade opportunities between China and Kenya in the field of construction machinery remanufacturing.
Held on May 11, local time, the three-day “China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo into Africa”, the first event in this series, followed the successful three editions of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo held in Changsha, Hunan Province since 2019.
One of the highlights of the event was the 2024 China (Changsha) Engineering Machinery Remanufacturing (Second-Hand) Equipment Economic and Trade Matchmaking Conference (Kenya Station).
Hosted by the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Commerce, organized by Hunan Guozhong Zhilian Construction Machinery Research Institute, and co-organized by the Hunan Remanufactured Engineering Machinery Export Industry Alliance and the Changsha Construction Machinery Industry Association, the conference brought together over 30 entrepreneurial representatives from China and Kenya to explore cooperation opportunities.
Chen Yahui, President of the Kenya Hunan Chamber of Commerce, emphasized Kenya’s vast infrastructure market and significant demand for construction machinery, especially second-hand equipment.
However, he noted a shortage of professional suppliers and service providers within the country. He expressed hope for collaboration with the Hunan Construction Machinery Second-Hand Equipment Export Industry Alliance to bridge this gap and facilitate the entry of Chinese second-hand construction machinery into the African market.
Yuan Zhen, Secretary General of the Association and the Hunan Remanufactured Engineering Machinery Export Industry Alliance highlighted Changsha’s strong industrial chain and supporting facilities as a leading “capital of construction machinery.”
He expressed enthusiasm for deepening cooperation with Kenyan enterprises to jointly develop the market and achieve mutual benefits.
The event featured active engagement between enterprises from both sides, culminating in a signing ceremony for economic and trade cooperation.
A strategic cooperation agreement was signed between the Hunan Remanufactured Engineering Machinery Export Industry Alliance and Continental Logistics Network Co. Ltd.
This agreement aims to deepen strategic cooperation, focus on the export of construction machinery remanufacturing (second-hand) equipment, strengthen standards mutual recognition, enhance economic and trade exchanges, and jointly build a new model for Changsha’s export of construction machinery remanufacturing (second-hand) equipment to Africa.
Bao Le, General Manager of Far East Group, a Chinese enterprise operating in Kenya, expressed keen interest in cooperation with the alliance, seeking reliable suppliers of high-quality used equipment.
Other participating enterprises also shared positive expectations for the collaboration between the two regions, envisioning continued promotion of China-Africa cooperation and shared prosperity.
The successful holding of this economic and trade exchange and matchmaking meeting has significantly advanced the economic and trade relations between Changsha and Kenya.
Based on mutual understanding and mutual benefit, the two sides will further engage in exchanges and cooperation in construction machinery remanufacturing (second-hand) equipment, driving new progress in their bilateral economic and trade relations and building a stronger and more enduring bridge for China-Africa cooperation.
