Sendy, a Kenyan logistics company, has entered into administration.
Peter Kahi of PKF Consulting (K) Limited has been appointed as the administrator of the Group of Companies effective September 20, 2023.
“This group includes Sendy Kenya Freight Limited (company number PVT-Q7UDVX5), Sendy Limited (company number CPR/2014/140428), Sendy Store Limited (company number PVT-PIUQRL9), and Sendy Kenya Marketplace Limited (company number PVT-MKUJX57),” announced PKF Consulting.
The appointed administrator has asked all parties that are owed by the cash-strapped company to submit their claims.
Any claim should reach PKF Consulting before October 19, 2023. Further, the claimants must attach all relevant documentation to act as proof.
The logistics firm was founded in 2015 by Mesh Alloys, Evanson Biwott, Don Okoth, and Malaika Judd and wants to prioritize its fulfilment centres and transport business to leverage the uptake of digital commerce.
In 2022, the company downsized its workforce by 20% citing funding challenges.
In 2020, it secured Kshs 2 billion in funding during a round that was led by Atlantica Ventures and Toyota Tsusho Corporation, the investment arm of Toyota.
Furthermore, the company obtained additional funding from MOL PLUS just last year.
