Old Mutual Group has appointed Loreen Makwanya as the managing director of its Life Insurance business.
Makwanya brings over 12 years of experience to the role, She previously served as the head of operations and customer experience for Old Mutual Africa Regions.
She joined Old Mutual in 2010, starting in the Actuarial department of Old Mutual Life Assurance Company (Zimbabwe) Ltd as a Product Development Manager.
In her new position, Makwanya will be responsible for expanding the company’s life insurance solutions and service delivery channels to meet changing customer needs within the region.
She will also drive the company’s business growth agenda and increase its overall market share in the region.
Old Mutual Group CEO, Arthur Oginga, expressed his delight at Loreen Makwanya’s appointment, stating that it reflects the group’s agenda of empowering in-house teams.
He expressed confidence in Makwanya’s ability to elevate their Life Insurance business and commended the company’s commitment to providing more opportunities for women in senior management.
