Phy Mwihaki Ng’etich, the talented singer and songwriter who rose to fame after winning the first season of Maisha Superstar, has announced her return to the music industry after a four-year break.
The Kenyan artist, known for her soulful voice and acoustic guitar skills, has released a new song titled ‘PAW’, which stands for ‘Phy’s Amazing World’.
The song is a catchy and upbeat tune that showcases her versatility and creativity as a musician.
In the song, Phy sings about her journey during her hiatus from the spotlight, revealing that she has been working on her personal growth, exploring new passions, and overcoming challenges.
She also expresses her gratitude to her fans for their support and loyalty and promises them that she is back for good.
“I’m back with a bang, I’m back with a plan, I’m back with a song that will make you dance,” she sings in the chorus.
Phy’s comeback was accompanied by a contract with Africa Centric Entertainment, a leading music label that has signed some of the biggest names in the continent.
The label issued a press release announcing Phy’s return and praising her as “one of the most talented and original artists in Africa”.
“We can’t be any happier to welcome Phyasco to the ACE family, Kenya’s sweetheart and one of the most talented writers and vocalists,” announced Africa Centric Entertainment.
“There has been high and consistent anticipation for her return. We are excited to roll out her comeback campaign under the ACE umbrella.”
Phy expressed her excitement to be back in the studio, vowing to her followers that she would not quit again no matter what the industry threw at her.
“Many of you wonder where I went to. Honestly, a lot happens in a hiatus that could never be rightfully quantified into one sentence,” she wrote on her Instagram feed.
“This song (PAW) is an attempt to invite you into a time capsule where I have been living my life meaningfully. Like a tree needing to bear new fruit, I have been pruned in so many ways that needed plugging out for growth to happen. Thank you all for waiting.”

As she launched her new song, Phy also posted a video of herself strumming her guitar and singing along to ‘PAW’.
The video received thousands of views and comments from her fans, who welcomed her back with open arms and praised her new song.

Phy is no stranger to success. She has released several hit songs in the past, such as ‘Taboo’, ‘Siwezani’, ‘Ruka’ and ‘Make Me Say’. She has also collaborated with other artists, such as King Kaka, Kagwe Mungai and Mayonde.
She has won several awards, including Best Female Artist at the 2016 Pulse Music Video Awards and Best Afro Pop Song at the 2017 AFRIMA Awards.
Phy’s fans can expect more music from her soon, as she revealed that she is working on an album that will showcase her evolution as an artist.
