President William Ruto appointed Dr Susan Jemtai Koech as the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Kenya.
The National Assembly and Senate recommended her approval after she fulfilled all the conditions for the position.
Dr. Susan becomes the Second Deputy Governor of the CBK for a period of 4 years.
Prior to her appointment, she served as the Principal Secretary in the ministries of East African Community, Tourism and Wildlife, ASAL and Regional Development.
She has also worked for the Kenya Commercial Bank.
During her vetting, which was conducted by the Joint Committee of the National Assembly’s Departmental Committee on Finance, and the Senate Standing Committee of Finance and Budget, she attributed her career progress over the years to hard work, strong intrapersonal and interpersonal skills, and ability to deliver results through people.

She has a doctorate in Philosophy, Business Management and a Master in Business Administration from Moi University.
