Viktor Claesson struck late to give Sweden a 3-2 win over Poland.
Sweden stunned Poland with a goal that took just 82 seconds. Alexander Isak did well to control a long ball and laid it off to Forsberg, who drove into the box and smashed his shot across Wojciech Szczęsny into the net to give his side the early lead.
Paulo Sousa’s Polish side came out after the break with great attacking intent but were caught out by a Swedish counter-attack. Substitute Dejan Kulusevski made an instant impact as he carried the ball up the pitch and squared it to Forsberg who finished with ease to double his nation’s lead.
However, Poland produced an instant reply through Lewandowski’s world class finish, leaving Sweden goalkeeper Robin Olsen with no chance.
Knowing they were on the verge of elimination, Poland threw everything forward and found the equaliser from their talisman Lewandowski – his 69th goal for his nation.
Viktor Claesson’s stoppage-time winner ensured his nation finished top of their group. Jan Andersson’s Sweden progress to the last 16 as group winners and will face a third-placed team – most likely the Czech Republic.
