Kenya has received 360,000 doses of the AstraZeneca-Oxford COVID-19 vaccine as part of the country’s efforts to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
The vaccines were donated by the Government of Denmark.

A brief handover ceremony was held at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Monday, which was attended by Ministry of the Health PS Susan Mochache, Danish Ambassador to Kenya Ole Thonke.
Others include UNICEF Representative to Kenya Maniza Zaman and WHO Representative to Kenya Dr. Rudi Eggers.
The rollout of the national vaccination campaign is being led by the Ministry of Health, with support from the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI), World Health Organisation (WHO), UNICEF, and other partners.
UNICEF is providing support to the Ministry of Health in the areas of planning, cold chain capacity, risk communication, and community engagement.
The country has so far vaccinated 192,093 persons with their second doses with total vaccinations standing at 1,187,663 according to the Ministry of Health.
