  • Neymar sealed the win deep into stoppage time to grab the vital points for Thomas Tuchel’s side

Two goals by Neymar propelled PSG to the knockout phase of the Champions League on Tuesday night.

It was a performance befitting a place in the knockout stages for the French Champions.

Last season’s Champions League finalists came into the match knowing that anything less than a win would see them miss out on a spot ìn the last-16.

Neymar put the visitors ahead into an early lead after Kylian Mbappe’s deflected shot fell to him to finish from a tight angle.

Marcus Rashford then pulled a goal back for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side after his shot was deflected into the net by Danilo Pereira.

But PSG captain Marquinhos restored his side’s lead in the second half after poking home following a corner for the visitors.

But PSG captain Marquinhos restored his side’s lead in the second half after poking home following a corner for the visitors after United’s failed to quickly clear.

But things started to turn rather ugly when VAR replays showed that Fred had headbutted PSG midfielder Leandro Paredes. Surprisingly, only a yellow card was shown to the Brazilian midfielder.

He would get his marching orders minutes later after a second-bookable offence with a nasty tackle on Ander Herrera.

Neymar then sealed the victory in the first minute of added time as he swept home Rafinha Alcantara’s low cut-back.

The result leaves United and PSG tied on nine points ahead of the final group matches.
