Khabib Nurmagomedov earns £4.6million from his last UFC fight.
Khabib Nurmagomedov banked a career-high £4.6million for his stunning UFC 254 win over Justin Gaethje.
The Russian announced his shock retirement from MMA after securing a second-round submission of the American, saying he’d promised his mother this would be his last fight as his later father Abdulmanap is no longer there to guide him.
And he will be able to embrace retired life with a massive boost financially after earning not only the £4.6m purse but also a pay-per-view share and post-fight bonuses.
The breakdown of his earnings is listed as £4,666,767 purse, £40,000 Performance of the Night bonus and £40,000 fight week incentive pay.
When the pay-per-view numbers are announced that total will increase even more.
UFC president Dana White had revealed earlier last week that UFC 254 was on course to become the biggest selling pay-per-view ever from their early indications.
In terms of the purse, Khabib will take some pleasure in eclipsing the amount earned by McGregor in the Irishman’s defeat by Khabib.
