Rafael Nadal beats Novak Djokovic in French Open Finals.
Rafael Nadal has three championship points for a 13th French Open title and a record-equalling 20th Grand Slam.
Nadal beat Djokovic 6-0 6-2 7-5 to win the title.
With the victory over Djokovic, Nadal tied Federer’s record of 20 Grand Slam men’s singles titles and earned his 13th French Open crown. Nadal is now 100-2 at Roland Garros.
The 34-year-old Spaniard has long been a force in Paris, where he was playing in his fourth consecutive French Open final.
Speaking after the match, Nadal said:
“Congrats to Novak for another great tournament. Sorry for today.
“It’s clear today was for me. That’s part of the game. We’ve played plenty times together – one day one wins, another the other .”
Nadal also had an inspiring message to the world:
“We are facing one of the worst moments we remember fighting against this virus,”
“Keep going. Stay positive and all the very best. We will get through this.”
