Dillian Whyte vs Alexander Povetkin II set for November

Whyte set to take on Povetkin in their heavily anticipated rematch in November.

The British boxer will be looking to avenge his loss to the Russian heavyweight when the two clash in November.

The Body Snatcher was looking to build momentum ahead of a potential heavyweight title clash against Tyson Fury – with Whyte being the number one contender for over 1000 days.

Whyte looked to win the fight as he sent Povetkin to the canvas twice in the fourth round.

The Russian got his win in the fifth round when he landed a devastating upper-cut that sent Whyte to the canvas as the referee ended the clash.

Whyte was knocked out by Povetkin  in the fifth round last month in their first fight

Whyte would be slapped with a 28-day medical suspension that puts him out of ring-action and training until September 23.

The British Boxing Board of Control, which imposed the ban, has given the go ahead for the fight to take place in November in London.

The defeat saw Whyte relinquish his No 1 challenger spot with the WBC and put any of his world title ambitions on the backburner.

Had he prevailed against Povetkin, Whyte would have been in a position to challenge the winner of Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder’s trilogy fight for the WBC title but now must win the rematch to re-enter the picture for a title shot.
