Bayern Munich set to lose star players this summer

Bayern Munich could lose some key players this summer.

Bayern Munich sealed a successful 2019/20 campaign that saw them complete a historic treble.

However, the German side could see some key players leaving the Allianz Arena this summer.

Bayern manager Hansi Flick admitted that his side could lose some key players with impressive qualities this summer.

Among them is Thiago Alcantara who has been linked with a move to Premier League, with champions Liverpool leading the race to sign the creative midfielder. Arsenal are also said to be interested in the former Barcelona man.

Winger Ivan Perisic is set to return to Italy having completed his loan spell away from Inter Milan.

Another name on their way out is Philippe Coutinho who is set to return to Barcelona, with new manager Ronald Koeman having informed the Brazilian that he was part of his plans with the side.

Speaking to Die Zeit, the Bayern manager said:

‘[We will] lose some players who have tremendous quality, we have to deal with that.

‘If I could continue to work with this squad, that would be nice, but that is not the case.’

Thiago is into the final year of his contract at Bayern and Liverpool are looking to add more creativity to their side.

Bayern value Thiago at £29million, but it remains to be seen whether Liverpool will meet their asking price.
