‘Am the BEST Heavyweight Boxer in the last THOUSAND years,’ declares Tyson Fury

Tyson Fury has branded himself as the best heavyweight boxer of the last thousand years.

The Gypsy King has claimed that he would have no trouble beating a prime Mike Tyson as there has been no other dominant heavyweight fighter in history.

Fury is set to fight Deontay Wilder later on this year to complete their trilogy fight after the British outboxed and outclassed the American back in February.

Thereafter, he is set to clash with Anthony Joshua in a ‘Battle of Britain’ which would crown a Unified Undisputed Heavyweight Champion.

Fury further claims that he would have beaten a Prime Mike Tyson if they met

On asked if he would have taken on Mike ‘Iron’ Tyson, the WBC Champion told BT Sport:

“There isn’t a heavyweight from any era in the last a thousand years that could’ve tackled me or beat me.

‘Never mind Mike Tyson from the 80s, Muhammad Ali, Joe Louis, Lennox Lewis, George Foreman, Ken Norton, Rocky Marciano, Floyd Patterson, Gene Tunney, Jem Mace, John L. Sullivan.

‘Going right back to the beginning, not one of them could’ve beaten the Gypsy King. I’m too big, I’m too good and I’ve got too many styles for them. I’m an adapter and they couldn’t even beat me anyway.”

Fury’s clash in 2021 is billed as one of the greatest heavyweight matches in recent history with a winner of the fighter being crowned Unified Undisputed Heavyweight Champion.

Lennox Lewis remains the last heavyweight boxer to hold the Undisputed Heavyweight title
