NBA has begun talks with The Walt Disney Company about resuming the current season at Disney World.

NBA is considering the possibility of resuming the current calendar at Disney World in late July.

The season was suspended back in Mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic. At the time, the season was five weeks away to culmination.

The plan would see the league hold games at one site – the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

The Complex has a sprawling athletic complex, three arenas and hotels that would allow the players limit outside exposure.

According to NBA Spokesman Mike Bass, the league is considering the possibility of having the games back but will be entirely focused to maintain the health and safety of the players.

Our priority continues to be the health and safety of all involved, and we are working with public health experts and government officials on a comprehensive set of guidelines to ensure that appropriate medical protocols and protections are in place.

NBA suspended the games back in Mid-March with five weeks remaining in its 82-game schedule.

A number of NBA players in the 30-team league have tested positive of the coronavirus, including Kevin Duran of the Brooklyn Nets.

The NBA playoffs were scheduled to begin on April 18 and conclude in June.
